Sweet lottie

Happy Sunday everyone,

Well so much for me keeping up with my regular posting like I promised!! Shortly after my last post I came down with a terrible viral infection and proceeded to pass it onto my girls - all 3 of them, so it's been a horrible few weeks in my house.
I'm pleased to say we're all feeling better now and I've had the teeniest amount of time to make a quick(ish) card.
This card started off life as one single sheet "card companion" printed from my Humphrey's corner CD about a year ago.
Now the idea of card companions is to make one entire card from the sheet without the need to use anything else..did that happen...NO!
I've since learned that no matter how hard I try I cannot do "CAS" or Quick and easy!

Any way, this little card is for a lovely friend of mine at work who is moving onto a new section and I wanted to let her know she will be missed (hello Jill if you are reading this).

I decided to go with quite bright colours for this card for a change, I used co-ordinations card in lovely bright yellow for the borders (MS punch) and corners (whimsy).
The DP is from another CDrom all printed yonks ago.
I decided to embellish with buttons and pearls for a change from flowers and the lovely ribbon was a freebie I think.
The little sentiment is craft work cards.

I have decorated the inside to compliment the front.

Finally a close up of the adorable Lottie dancing with her little friend.

I'm off now to make a start on Sunday lunch.

Thank you for any comments you may leave, they really do brighten my day.

Spring is in the air!

Hello again, i promised i'd be back!
I've had the most lovely relaxing crafty day, i've had the house to myself for 4 glorious hours and what have i done - bugged you lot lol!
I bought some fab papers yesterday they are by "scrapcake" - never heard of them before but I love them. I had to make a card straight away and decided to use one of my new Lillies and make a "spring" birthday card.
Whilst scouting through my reading list I came across this sketch:

I couldn't believe it but it matched one sheet from my new DP pad perfectly!!!
I stamped my image and coloured it with promarkers.  I then decided I was going to make my VERY FIRST shaker card! Oh m this was so fiddly but i managed it by using and empty double sided tape roll, i filled it with little butterflies made with a Martha Stewart Punch.

The Ribbon is from a mini kit from The Ribbon Girl and the pearls are from The Hobby House.
The sentiments are rub on's which came free with a magazine.  The kraft card is Bazzil.

This is a different style of card but overall I'm quite pleased with it.

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

I really hope my card qualifies for the Sketch over at The Sketchy Challenges.

Thanks for looking, hope you have a great Easter break

Love and hugs
xx Cara xx

Mother's day card # 2

Happy Sunday every one - well it is almost Monday now but in my defence I think Blogger has been playing a really cruel April fool prank on me - it has taken me nearly 3 hours to publish this post grrrrrrrr!
On to today,s card, here is the second of my Mother's Day makes.

I have used one of my fave LOTV stamps, this little cutie reminds me so much of my own little cutie Paige (I always seem to buy stamps which resemble my kiddos, I think that's why I don't have many boy stamps ;-)

She has been coloured with my trusty promarkers and some glittery gel pens which I borrowed one of the girls (i gave them back i promise)

The DP is from the "Time for Tea" pad by Dovecraft and everything has been matted onto coredinations green card stock.

I hand stitched around the edges using silk embroidery thread (i bought about 30 different coloured balls from ebay and since then i've stitched around everything i make lol)

The inside has been decorated to compliment the front.

Well that's all from me today i'll be glad to put my lap top away my legs are burning!

Thanks so much for visiting, I hope you like my work.

Love and hugs xxcaraxx
