Inky Pinkies DT post

Happy Saturday folks!

Today I'm sharing my Inky Pinkies DT make and I must admit i've been a little bit of a cheat lately and used the samples I made for the latest C&C show for my DT makes, it has saved me so much time in the run up to Christmas, I don't know about you but every years get's more and more busy!

So this image is from the Colour Therapy 2 Inspiring Foliage collection.

I love this collection, I had to do nothing other than print and colour, the image was already sized to fit my 6x6 card with the sentiment as part of the image, there are so many different sized images too, you can just print and go!

I actually dug out my old tub of print magic and embossed in lovely silver, I then painted the image with my twinkling H2o's for something a little different .. just look at the sheen!

I simply matted and layered onto pearl card stock to finish.

I hope you like it!

I would also like to wish you my lovely followers a very merry Christmas and the happiest of new years!

Huge hugs Cara xx

Inky Pinkies DT post

Hi everyone,

It seems such a long time since I posted, things are so busy around here lately my poor craft room has been left a little deserted.

Today I am back to share a card I made for the Inky Pinkies Facebook Group combining two Polkadoodles collections.  I have used Colour Therapy 2 to frame the image I used from Dolly Goes East.

I used my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour pencils to colour the whole image ...It took quite a while :)

I re-outlined the whole thing too with a black micron pen and then added white accents with my uniball signo pen.

I simply matted and layered with black and white card and then added a sentiment from Lawn Fawn which I embossed in white.

Finally I added Clear Wink of Stella all over.

I hope you like it.

The Pencil Case Challenge - Heartfelt!

Hi everyone!

This week at the Pencil Case blog we are sponsored by the Super Talented Nikky Hall and Polkadoodles!

I chose to use an image from the Colour Therapy 2 collection  . I turned my image into a lovely calendar!

I was in such a rush to colour this up I completely forgot to note down my colours but I can tell you I used almost all of the colours in my tin!

I re-outlined the image and simply added some white pen around the sentiment to make it pop.  A simple ribbon and calendar base finished it off.

Hope you like it!

I've made a few cards this year wit this image but I adore her!

I coloured the image with my Distress Inks ... I really need more practice so don't look too closely.

I finished off with a sentiment from Lawn Fawn and so white gel pen and stickles.

I hope you like it.

Colour Crazy Challenge with All Dressed up Stamps

Hi lovelies,

Phew its been a busy week! I have been run ragged with Christmas errands I am ready for the weekend I tell you!

So this week at the Colour Crazy Challenge Blog we are sponsored by All Dressed up Stamps and they are offering a prize of " digi's to the winner ... perfect for your last minute xmas makes!!

The design team were also given a choice of three colour pallets to work with and I chose this one:

I loved the bokeh effect and decided to make a shaker card to emulate this!

I  used the image Happy Christmas Little Star - she is totally adorable, and now I have to make two more or my girls will argue over her! I decided on the pinks and purples too but also added some green greys into the mix, I've never used them before and I think I am hooked!

I finished off with a white gel pen for highlights and faux stitching and added a tonne of sparkle too as well as all the sequins!!!

I do hope you like it!

Have a great weekend!

Morning lovelies,

I'm back today to share my DT make for the Pencil Case Challenge and this week we would like to see you make a project using the colour Green, you can use any medium you like as long as you have hand coloured something you can enter.

As well as fab Pencil prizes you can also win sponsor images and this week we are sponsored by Digital Papercraft:

Prize - 3 digis of choice from Etsy shop to winner

I couldn't wait to colour up this cute little pirate, he looks great in his green's! I do love working with greens and now I am a lucky girl with the whole set of pencils I was spoilt for choice with the selection of green shades!

I made a pretty simple card and for a change I made it A6 ... I'm so not used to making anything other than a square card!

The sentiment is computer generated ... can you tell I have young children who love a certain pirate themed Disney cartoon lol!

I hope you like my card today.

Inky Pinkies DT post - Christmas Tag

I would like to say good morning today ... but on waking up and seeing on the news what has happened in Paris, it is not a good morning and for those poor people it wont ever be now.  I feel my post today is so insignificant and I took a lot of time deciding whether to post my make today.

My heart goes out to those poor souls who have lost their lives, to their families and friends ... you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

So it is on a somber note that I share my make with you today.

Here are the details:

Image - From the Festive Hollybobs CDrom by Polkadoodles
Papers - Lili of the Valley
Ribbons - The Hobby House
Medium - Lyra Rembrandt Polycolours
Sentiment - Lawn Fawn

Inky Pinkies DT post

Hello again and a lovely welcome to my new followers, it means so much that you like to visit and see my work!

I've just been and done the big shop, i've started to add a few more xmas bits into the trolly to limit what I have to get the week before, I still have a list as long as my arm though lol.

So i'm hear again today to share another make and this time its my DT make for the Inky Pinkies Facebook group where we the DT share our PD makes and you can share any makes as long as you have coloured something in.

So as you can see I made another card with the wonderful Serenity collection. I coloured the image with my Graph'it Markers. I did add some clear wink of stella but it is a little camera shy :)

I decided to make an easel card and used papers and a sentiment from the collection.

I hope you like it!

Hugs xx Cara xx

Fierce Colour's at the Pencil Case Challenge

Good Morning!!

This week over a the The Pencil Case Challenge we are challenging you to use Fierce colours on your creation, and by Fierce we mean any fierce colour combo you choose!

Remember as long as you have coloured with any medium you can enter our challenge!

There are fab prizes to be won including digi images from our sponsor Nikki Burnette and Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils too!

I chose the image Without Wings and decided to go completely out there with a fierce colour clashing combination coloured of course with my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils.

I made the skin quite dark otherwise she would have been completely washed out by the bold colours!

I used papers from the paper stack Mango Frost, really bright lovely papers and match perfectly with the colours on her dress!

I finished with minimal embellishments, just a sentiment, some doodling and a sprinkling of sequins.

I hope you like it! There is some amazing inspiration for you waiting over on the challenge post so make sure you pop by and take a peek!

Christmas Sparkles at The Graph'it Marker Blog

Hey lovelies, did you all have a great bonfire night or are you celebrating this weekend?

I am actually petrified of fireworks .. in fact anything that bangs, crackers, party poppers, balloons lol. We did get some fireworks for the kiddos and had pie and peas (we bought the quiet fireworks and watched from the safety of the window ha ha)

So today is a new challenge over at the Graph'it Marker blog and we would love to see you Christmas colours with added sparkle, there are some wonderful colour palettes for inspiration over on the blog but of course you can use any colours you like!

Remember there are some fabulous prizes to be won from both Cult Pens and our sponsor this week Digital Delights .

For my image this week I decided to go with the darker colour palette as gingerbread biscuits at Christmas make me think of warm cosy nights drinking hot chocolate!

The image is called Candy Wreath Natasha.  I added gold shake marker to the image and all of the edges of my papers and even the flowers, you've got to have sparkle at Christmas and the shake markers are perfect!

Colour's used:
Brown: 3250,3245,3210
Red: 5260, 5250, 5220
Green: 8290, 8280, 8260
White and shadows: Neutral greys

I hope you like it!

Have a great weekend!

Can you Bookeh in pencil?

Hi lovelies,

Aren't the nights drawing in? I can't believe it is dark before I set off home from work.

So today I'm sharing another sample I made for the launch show for the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolours and I had attempted a Bookeh background .... hmmm it didn't quite turn out as well as I had hoped as I used Sansador to blend and went slightly too far!

I used the Kingfisher image from Make it Crafty.  As you can see I over blended waaaaaaay too much, but still I'm quite happy with it as far as a background is concerned lol

For my backing paper I embossed a sheet of white card and coloured that too .. this card took a looong time I can tell you!

I added lots of layers of white for dimension and a simple bow with a sparkler to finish.

I hope you like it.

Hugs xx Cara xx

I used my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolours to colour her up, I think she is so pretty.

The papers and sentiment are also from the collection. I love them they are so bright and fresh, just my cup of tea.

I finished off with a bow and some flowers and of course a fairy card wouldn't be complete without some stickles would it!

I hope you like it!

Christmas Colours with added Sparkle!!

Happy Friday,

I've been enjoying a week off work with the kids this week, getting ready for Halloween, I can't believe its that time of year again, as soon as Saturday passes though we will be on the slippery slope to Christmas!

And that's our theme over at The Graph'it Marker Blog this week! We are sponsored by The Stamping Boutique and we would like to see you Christmas colour pallets.

I used this lovely wintery image called Candy Land Winter Ice Princess and you can find her here

I used all of my Blue Grey's to achieve the silvery colour palette.  I added my Gold Shake marker to her Tiara and the stars and then the Silver Shake marker to everything else!

I have had to take a sideways photograph as glitter is definitely camera shy!

Colours used:
Skin: 3105, 4155, 4150, 4135
Hair: 370, 3250, 4345
Cool Grey's
Gold and silver glitter shake markers.

I hope you like my sparkly card!!

Have a great Halloween weekend.

A Very Fairy Door Gift Bag

Morning all,

Just another quick post today to share the matching gift bag I made to go with the card I shared on my last post.

I used another Fairy from the A Very Fairy Door Kick starter campaign, and if you've not heard of this before here is a link to the facebook page where you can find all the details.

As you can probably tell these images have been illustrated by Krista Smith of Saturated Canary.

I followed the same theme as I did with the card so this looks very similar, I used the same colour Graph'it Markers and added just as much stickles lol.

The bag is quite large so instead of ribbon I used a large MS punch to add detail.

The fairy is printed out at a (huge for me) 9 inches high!

I hope you like it.

Hugs xx Cara xx

I would like to enter my gift bag into the following challenges:

Crafting for all seasons - all dressed up/girly
Crafty gals corner - Anything goes

Halloween Tag

Hey my lovelies,

I made a little tag using this adorable little image Hallo Witch from the Greeting Farm.

I coloured her up with my Graph'it Markers, she is so cute I love her!

The whole tag only measures around 3 inches so i only used a couple of tiny pieces of scrap paper, lace and ribbon to make this.

I hope you like it!

I would like to enter my tag into the following challenges:

Come and get it - use orange
Pile it on - Cute or spooky
Robyns fetish - anything halloween

Inky Pinkies DT post

Hey lovelies,

Did you all enjoy your extra hour in bed? Even I managed a lie in it was lovely.

So I posted a peek (onto the Inky Pinkies wall) of a work in progress I've had on my desk for absolutely ages, I could not decide what colours to use to finish it off.

I eventually decided to challenge myself to use yellow .... eeeeek! I can't say I'm entirely happy with it but I'll show you anyway.

I've used an image from the stunning Eden collection which you can find here.

I coloured the image with my Graph'it Markers and added some details with my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour pencils, I also added some Gold sparkle with my Graph'it Shake glitter marker.

I used papers from a pad by First Edition called "Dream Catcher"  I've had it in my stash for years and never used it because of my fear of yellow lol.

The sentiment is from Stampin up and I've been waiting for the perfect project to add it to, i've also been saving the large rose for something special too!

I hope you like it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, I have pulled pork in my slow cooker for a change to the normal Sunday roast and i'm also off work next week so i'm a very happy bunny!

Hugs xx Cara xx

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Pencil Cases blog

In addition to the fabulous pencils prize for the random winner, this week we are sponsored by oddball art, you can find the store here and they are offering a prize of 3 images too!

This week I got to play with the image Clarissa and I adore her! As she had the stitching on her face I decided to give her green skin a bit like Frankenstein!

To give my image a darker look I coloured it all in Greys first and then went over with my other colours, I did the same with the sky too!

I finished the card off simply with a sentiment and a double bow.

I hope you like it, do come and join us over at the challenge, my teamies have created some fabulous inspiration for you!

Have a great weekend!

I decided to go for lovely soft muted colours today.

I layered so many papers up today but they are so delicate my camera struggled to pick up all the colours!

I only added a few flowers and some stickles to finish off as I didn't want to overpower the image.

I hope you like it, i'm now off to cook the Sunday lunch and tune into the Graph'it Marker show on Hochanda!

Happy Happy Saturday lovelies,

Today see's the start of a brand new challenge over at the Pencil Case's blog and this week we have been sponsored by the fabulous Melonheadz, their images are adorable I would urge you to take a look at their store!

I used the Halloween Stuff bundle , I absolutely adored working wit the images, I combined two of the Zombie images, I think they are adorable and a bit like me and my husband.  I used my browns for shading on this card as I wanted the colours to look quite dirty ... as zombies do of course!

Pencils used:
Skin: 68,73,76
Browns: 75,76
Orange: 13,15,17,76
Blue: 44,51,Black

I used my new Pumpkin template by Dutch Doobadoo and papers from an old halloween pad i've had ever since I started crafting ... I'm not sure what I will do when it runs out :)

There is loads more inspiration from my clever teamies over on the blog, why not pop over and join in ... remember there are Pencil prizes to be won as well as sponsor images and you can use any colour medium to take part!
