Finally the new Blog is here .... Welcome to the Pencil Case

Wooooooo hello everyone, today is finally the day I can invite you to visit our brand new challenge blog The Pencil Case, a challenge blog and a place to share our love of the Amazing Lyra Pencils!!!

Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour pencils are available from Jacksons and other good Art & Craft stores across the UK.  If you are a retailer and would like to stock this product please contact us here.

Some of you may have seen my being a bit of a tease on face book so now you all know the secret as to what i've been using!

These pencils are amazing, they are creamy, vibrant and so blend-able, I totally love them, the best thin is you don't need the entire range to get amazing results ... I have been working with the tin of 36 and while there aren't skin colours in the range you can totally create your own from the colours there!

So back to the challenge ... for the first week of course its Anything goes and we are sponsored by the lovely lady Nikky Hall and Polkadoodles!

So here I have used Mermaid digital image, I coloured her on Kraft card to show you how vibrant the colours are .... no need to colour in white first either I went straight in with my colours!

I also drew and coloured some bubbles with my pencils to create an under water bubbly scene!

I have added Kaisercraft papers, anda sweet sentiment from Stampin up with bubbly die cuts and a double bow and charm to finish.

If you want to know the colours I used pop on over to the challenge blog, there is loads more inspiration from my teamies there for you too!

Frosted Winter - Cocoa Mug Tag

Morning my lovelies,

Today I'm sharing another project made with the wonderful Octavia - Frosted Winter collection.

I have made a tag .... shaped like a cocoa mug!!

I also cheated a bit and used one of the pre -coloured images, perfect for when you are running short on time!

Everything on this project (with the exception of the bow and charm) can be found in the collection!

I added some stickles around the sentiment and glossy accents to the polar bears nose and eyes and a sprinkling of gems to finish.

I hope you like it.

Frosted Winter Inspiration

Good morning!!

Today I'm sharing another project made with the brand new Octavia Collection Frosted Winter.

I adore this collection and have had so much fun playing.

This time I decided to make a wall hanging using an MDF Plaque which I covered in Denim sheets from Dutch Doobadoo.

Everything else but the die cuts are from the collection.

I coloured the image with my Graph'it Markers and added details to the fur with my pencils.

I do hope you like it!

Back to my make ... I made a tag for a change .... a very CAS tag too..

I used my Portrait to cut the tag shape (from the Silhouette Store) I created several layers and sandwiched the papers from the collection between so they would show through.

I coloured the beautiful Octavia and her furry fox friend with my Graph'it Markers and added fine details with my pencils.

The Sentiment is also from the collection.

I have coloured her with my pencils (hopefully will be able to reveal which soon eeeeeeeeek)

I did stuff up her nose a bit but hey ho we all make mistakes right :)

This is another teeny tiny card, i'm really enjoying making smaller card lately, they seem to come together so much more quickly - even though the images are a little fiddly to colour!

Distress Ink colouring attempt

Hi everyone,

Today I'm sharing a card using "Vintage Slip" from A Day for Daisies, unfortunately I couldn't find her in the store (i bought her quite a few years ago) but there are hundreds of lovely images in there to chose from.

I have used distress inks, now this is only the 2nd time i've used them since I bought them .... when they first came out I might add (hangs head in shame)

I went for a watercolor type vintage-y look lol

I coloured her on heavily textured watercolour paper and added a tonne of distress stickles to her lovely hair.

I also used my new white jute from Stampin up (sparingly I might add -  this stuff is expensive!) and to finish off I added some embellies from Live & Love Crafts and loads more stickles to edge the papers!

I hope you like her :)

Have a great weekend!

love Cara xx

Make it Crafty and Floral colours at the Graph'it Marker Blog

Happy Friday everyone,

Today I'm sharing my latest make for the Graph'it Marker Challenge and this week we are all about Florals!!

We are also sponsored by the wonderful Make it Crafty who gave us fabulous images to play with!

I chose the wonderful Chantelle at the Races and I was given a stunning floral colour palette to work with by Nikky ...

I love this palette but I have to admit I always struggle doing pastels i'm more of a bright and bold type of gal lol .....

.... and as you can see I was way off the palette... lucky for me Nikky is super kind and let me off ha ha ... she did give me a great tip for next time and that is to work lightest to darkest for pastel tones and that way you are mapping out the highlights first so have less chance of losing them like I did.

I teamed her up with more papers from Floral Pavilion pad by First Edition (I love this pad it has lasted me years)

I kept the rest of the card simple and just added a sentiment from my stash, I wanted the whole card to be about that fabulous outfit and hat!

Hope you like it!

Please come over and join us and remember you can you use any markers to come play!

Tabitha - another pencil colouring

Hello again!

Today i'm sharing another make using my lovely new and secret pencils with you ... this was one of my first attempts at using the pencils, I hope you will be kind to me and bare in mind I only have a small set so there are no skin tones in there, I had to use my browns and ocher colours to achieve something close to skin colour...

I used the adorably cute Tabitha by Mo Manning,

I used some older papers from my stash and some lovely embellies from the Hobby House

The sentiment is from Stampin Up.

I hope you like her!

I'm off to watch Bake Off now wooooo!

Take care, hugs xx Cara xx

This is the super sweet Little Miss Giraffe from A day for daisies and she can be found here.

This time I printed my image onto heavily textured watercolour paper and then blended my pencils with Sansador and a paper stump.

The papers are from my scraps box again (i'm really loving making tiny cards to use up all my scraps)

The sentiment is from Stampin up and a couple of flowers from WOC.

I really hope you like her .... she has already been claimed by my middle daughter Paige.

Forever Rose - Pencil colouring

Hi me again ....

I've been doing some more colouring with my pencils and today I have used one of my favourite images by Hannah Lynn and this is Forever Rose, she was purchased as a download from Crafts and Me and can be found here.

I've popped her on a teeny A6 card and teamed her with some vintage papers I found in my scraps box.

I added a few embellies and flowers from the Hobby House and WOC.

I decided to leave the stickles alone today ... don't worry though I have another card with plenty of sparkle to share tomorrow :D

I hope you like her!

Have a great weekend.
