The Pencil Cases Challenge - V= Varicoloured

Happy Saturday lovelies!

Today is the start of a new challenge over at the Pencil Cases blog and this week we would like to see you use ANY colouring medium and follow the theme of Varicoloured .... so just used lots of colours ... Simple!

This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Nikky Hall and Polkadoodles so you could be winning some fabby Polkadoodles prizes in addition to the awesome Lyra prizes up for grabs too!

Polkadoodles Ltd

I used the super cute and brand new Winnie in Wonderland digital image, she is available on her own here or as part of a full stunning collection here.  Now in my mind this was going to come out a lot more colourful .. I used pink, purple, green and blue but blue and purple seem to overwhelm everything :)

I like to outline all of my images with a fine liner when I have coloured with pencils as I am a little heavy handed and tend to cover up the original lines with pencil, I also added loads of shabby white embossing powder and distress ink for a distressed look.

As you can tell I had a lot more time to spend on this card than usual so my embellishing is totally over the top ha ha!  I used loads of flowers from WOC, Die cut leaves and stickles!!

The sentiment is also from the collection, don't you just love it .... I think it is perfect for a totally over embellished card!

I hope you like my creation!  Don't forget to head over to the blog for some more fabulous inspiration!

Have a great weekend!

Inky Pinkies DT post!

Happy Saturday!!

I'm just popping in quickly to share my Inky Pinkies DT post and today I have used to super adorable little fat Bee from the Winnie Fruit Punch collection.

He is actually an embellishment on the collection but just look at him .... he deserves a card all to himself he's so cute!

The great think about Nikky's collections is that all of the images and the embellishments come in coloured and black and white so you can colour them any colours you like!

I coloured him in with my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolours and added some Silver Graph'it Shake marker to his little wings.

The papers I used are also from the collection.  I used a honeycomb die I've had in my stash for year un used from MFT

I also found out a brand new pad of distress kraft core cor'edinations, I sanded it back to look distressed.  I finished off with some faux stitching and of course some flowers from WOC.

I hope you like it!

I'm having a bit of a tough time with my porrly pancreas today so I'm going go have a little lay down on the sofa I think!

Enjoy your weekend.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Red and Pinks at the Pencil Cases Challenge

Hi everyone,

Hope you've had a good week!

Today is the start of a new challenge at the Pencil Cases Blog and this fortnight we would like to see you use Reds and Pinks, remember you can use any colouring medium to join in!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is A Day for Daisies and they are offering a $12 gift certificate for the winner, there is also a Lyra prize to be won too!

Prize - $12 gift card for store

My image this week is called Aloha Blooms and can be found here. Isn't she stunning!

I didn't really have much to colour in red and pink so I went for a pink bikini and red flowers in her hair!

I went for a very Clean and simple card for me, I thought she was stunning enough and with the sentiment from Stamping up I didn't feel it needed much more, some simple doodling around the papers and a touch of Wink of Stella on her lovely flowers.

I hope you like it!

The Pencil Cases Challenge - Q = Quad (4 of something)

Happy Saturday,

This week has been so busy I'm so glad its the weekend!

Its time for the start of another challenge over at the Pencil Cases Blog and this week we would like to incorporate 4 of something into your make.  Remember you can colour with any medium and enter it into our challenge!

My image this week is called Poppies and can be found here.  I cropped it down so that there were only 4 poppies to meet the quad theme, I also used pencils to for colouring the poppies.

I used a watercolour card with a heavy texture so the white parts still show through a little.  I used Sansador to blend my background.

The sentiment is an MFT die (which cut 4 times lol) and layered up to give dimension and I finished off with some simple matting and layering (4 layers ha ha)

I hope you like it.

Peculiar colour combinations at the Pencil Cases Challenge!

Hi everyone I hope you are all enjoying the start of the lovely long Easter weekend!!

Now before I get on to the post can I just mention I have no clue what is happening to the format of this blog post I cannot get it to go left no matter what I do so apologies for that lol.

So it's a new challenge starting today over at the Pencil Case's Blog and this week we are sponsored by Enchanted Design Studio.

This is a new company to me and they have some amazing images and they are offering 2 images to the winner so go take a peep at what you could be in with a chance of winning if you enter!  Now remember there is also a pencil prize up for grabs for all UK entrants so remember to put "UK" after your name when you link up.

So what is the challenge this week??? Well we want to see your Peculiar colour combo's!! Remember you can use any colour medium to enter.

My image this week is a the Turtle Colouring Page. Now I must admit I really struggled to think of a peculiar colour combo, i'm so used to putting colours that work together I just could not do it .... take a  look what do you think??

Now because I was given a colouring page to use I decided to leave the card very simple, I only added a sentiment at the bottom and I even "attempted" some Zengtangle .... lol  Yes I said attempted as I wont be attempting it again I don't think, it went totally wrong!

Any way I hope you like it, make sure you head over and check the other DT inspiration ....

High Tops - Coloured with Pencils

Hey everyone,

Just popping in to share a card with you .... this is another I made for the Lyra Rembrandt launch on Create and Craft and still not had chance to blog about.

Something a little bit different for me I think ...

Yes I did a boys card!!!  Not something you will see on my blog every day!

The image is High Tops by Just Inklined ... I think it can be used for either boys or girls.

I really enjoyed colouring this up, definitely something far away from colouring the cute whimsical images I usually go for.  I teamed it up with some darker papers I found lurking at the back of my papers cabinet.

I hope you like it!

Spring Delights at the Colour Crazy Challenge

Hi everyone, finally its Friday and while you are reading this I will probably be finishing up my last shit at work before a week off with the kiddies wooooooo!

So today I am sharing my DT project for the Colour Crazy Challenge at the Graph'it Marker Blog and this week we have the theme of Spring Delights and are sponsored by the amazing Ching-Chou Kuik!  I love her style, her images are great fun to colour.

One lucky winner will wing some gorgeous digi images and remember for UK entries there is also a Graph'it Marker prize up for grabs!

Here is the colour palette I chose to work with, there are two over on the challenge blog but you don't need to use them for your entries.

So here is my make.... my image  is called Embrace the Ocean stunning and with it being an undersea image I just had to give her green skin! I decided to colour the background too and used my blender to soften it and give the impression of bubbles. I had great fun!

I used my white pen to add lots of details and also a blue fine liner to add in tiny dots to her skin.

With detail of the image I didn't really need to add many embellies, just a few pearl strings some ribbon.

I hope you like it and hope it's inspired you to get colouring!

Have a great weekend!

Happy Everything - Saturated Canary Image with Pencils

Hi lovelies,

I've been sorting all of my memory sticks out and have found quite a few makes that i've never shared before!!! Can you believe it?? So I plan on sharing them all as and when I can .... hey maybe it will make my blog seem a little less unloved right??

So first up is a card made for the Launch of the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils on Create and Craft.

I used the adorable Fairy Sweet image by Saturated Canary ... isn't she the sweetest thing?

Now please remember when I coloured this image I hadn't used the pencils before lol having said that I don't think my colouring has changed all that much, I am still so heavy handed and I adore my dark rich colours ...maybe not so much for the the skin though ha ha

I used a shaped card I got from C & C ages ago, its very lobg so I struggled to find papers wide enough, maybe that's why they were so cheap!

I finished of with a large bow and some lovely flowers from WOC, the sentiment is by LOTV.

I hope you like it.

The Pencil Case's Challenge - O is for One colour!

Hi everyone,

I finally feel well enough to start back with my DT makes, and I'm so thankful to my wonderful boss lady Nikky and my teamies for putting up with me being such a slacker lol.

So today is the start of another new challenge at the Pencil Case's Blog and we want to see you colour with just one colour ....eeeeeep!

Now its not as difficult as it sounds, in fact it's a great way to practice your colouring technique and takes out all the stress of matching colour tones so give it a try ... and remember you can use any colouring medium to enter our challenge.

This fortnight we are sponsored by the awesome Polkadoodles!!!

I used one of my fave collections for this challenge ....Winston bear is perfect for colouring in monochrome, and also perfect for the father's day card I made (i'm trying to get ahead) I used tones of brown/yellow  to give my card a sepia feel.

The papers I used are from the collection too and I know this is a man's card but I don't think the lace or ribbon looks too girly .....does it lol?

I finished off with my awesome cork alpha tiles, i've had these in my stash since forever and have to use them very sparingly as I cannot find them anywhere now, they a self adhesive and very light weight ... my dad is a lucky man to get so many on his card!

So I hope you like my make and you will pop over and join in the challenge!

Have a great weekend!

The Pencil Case Challenge - Heartfelt!

Hi everyone!

This week at the Pencil Case blog we are sponsored by the Super Talented Nikky Hall and Polkadoodles!

I chose to use an image from the Colour Therapy 2 collection  . I turned my image into a lovely calendar!

I was in such a rush to colour this up I completely forgot to note down my colours but I can tell you I used almost all of the colours in my tin!

I re-outlined the image and simply added some white pen around the sentiment to make it pop.  A simple ribbon and calendar base finished it off.

Hope you like it!

Morning lovelies,

I'm back today to share my DT make for the Pencil Case Challenge and this week we would like to see you make a project using the colour Green, you can use any medium you like as long as you have hand coloured something you can enter.

As well as fab Pencil prizes you can also win sponsor images and this week we are sponsored by Digital Papercraft:

Prize - 3 digis of choice from Etsy shop to winner

I couldn't wait to colour up this cute little pirate, he looks great in his green's! I do love working with greens and now I am a lucky girl with the whole set of pencils I was spoilt for choice with the selection of green shades!

I made a pretty simple card and for a change I made it A6 ... I'm so not used to making anything other than a square card!

The sentiment is computer generated ... can you tell I have young children who love a certain pirate themed Disney cartoon lol!

I hope you like my card today.

Fierce Colour's at the Pencil Case Challenge

Good Morning!!

This week over a the The Pencil Case Challenge we are challenging you to use Fierce colours on your creation, and by Fierce we mean any fierce colour combo you choose!

Remember as long as you have coloured with any medium you can enter our challenge!

There are fab prizes to be won including digi images from our sponsor Nikki Burnette and Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils too!

I chose the image Without Wings and decided to go completely out there with a fierce colour clashing combination coloured of course with my Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils.

I made the skin quite dark otherwise she would have been completely washed out by the bold colours!

I used papers from the paper stack Mango Frost, really bright lovely papers and match perfectly with the colours on her dress!

I finished with minimal embellishments, just a sentiment, some doodling and a sprinkling of sequins.

I hope you like it! There is some amazing inspiration for you waiting over on the challenge post so make sure you pop by and take a peek!

Can you Bookeh in pencil?

Hi lovelies,

Aren't the nights drawing in? I can't believe it is dark before I set off home from work.

So today I'm sharing another sample I made for the launch show for the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolours and I had attempted a Bookeh background .... hmmm it didn't quite turn out as well as I had hoped as I used Sansador to blend and went slightly too far!

I used the Kingfisher image from Make it Crafty.  As you can see I over blended waaaaaaay too much, but still I'm quite happy with it as far as a background is concerned lol

For my backing paper I embossed a sheet of white card and coloured that too .. this card took a looong time I can tell you!

I added lots of layers of white for dimension and a simple bow with a sparkler to finish.

I hope you like it.

Hugs xx Cara xx

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Craft-dee Bowz - anything goes with a handmade bow
Crafting from the heart - anything goes
Craft your passion - always anything goes
