Digi Choosday DT Make - Fantasy

Happy Tuesday guys,

As you should all know by now Tuesdays mean it's not only Digi Choosday but also Discount day, have you popped over to the Challenge blog to secure your discount code yet???

So as always the theme for you guys is anything goes, but us the DT and you if you wish to play along of course were given the theme Fantasy!

http://www.polkadoodles.co.uk/

Now usually I would select some sort of Fairy or mermaid image but thought I would go a little different this weeks … it seams most of us on the DT had the same idea lol

I used the fabulous Knight Dude and you can buy him in his own mini kit with sentiments and 3 papers here, or in the Little Dudes big Kahuna bundle here.

Isn't he so cute with his little Dragon, I coloured him up with my promarkers, it was a long job since I decided to try my hand at making my own decoupage … I didn't realise how complicated it would be!

The image comes with three Digital Papers and some sentiments too, I went a bit crazy and ended up decoupaging the papers too!

I finished the whole thing off with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen on the little Dragon and all of the popped up stars!

I hope you like it.

13 Today

Hi everyone!

I thought it was about time I brushed the cobwebs off my little dusty blog and get something on here, I don't want you all leaving me now do I???

I have got loads of cards done and photo's taken but finiding the time to blog about them has been impossible.

I've also been dabbling in the world of Mini Album making and seem to lose myself in youtube tutorials most nights.

Any hoos here is a card I made for a commission, this was inspired by my lovely new friend and DT sister Simonne (hope you are feeling better hun) ... here's her fab card.

So here's what I did:

The image is by Kenny K and I coloured him with a mix of Pro markers and Graph'it Markers, I also tried something new and edged all the way around the image with black marker to make it pop.

I used so scraps of paper from my box, matted everything with black and added faux stitching as always.

I used loads of dies too, the arrows and numbers are by Die-namics and the stars are X-cut.

The inside is decorated to compliment the front with space to add a greeting.

And there you have it, I hope you like it!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, hugs xx Cara xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Bearly Mine - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Die-ing for a punch
digi galore - One for the boys

"Emboss it" at A Gem of a Challenge

Happy Saturday all!

I hope today finds you well, i'm on my annual summer fitness kick so I started a new workout DVD called "30 Day shred" and my god my body aches in place i didn't realise I had muscles lol, i can barely walk down the stair! - ouch!

So anyhoo, today see's the start of a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this week we would like to see you "emboss it".

This was a bit of a challenge for me as embossing has never been one of my most favourite techniques, I barely own and embossing folders or embossing powder but lucky I found one which matched perfectly with my image (I think the folder was a freebie off a mag)

So here's what I did:

I used one of the adorable new vintage images from Janet's lovely store, this one is Martha.

I used my promarkers to colour her in.

The papers are quite old, I think they are by Prima, and I used flowers from WOC and some Silky Crush ribbon and a charm from The Ribbon Girl.

For the embossing I used Core'dinations Whitewash and sanded it back to show the butterflies. I also used it on the inside too.

My card is quite dark and somber looking today .... unfortunately it's for a Sympathy card  ... never the easiest to make are they.

I hope you like my card and I would love to have you join our challenge this week.

Loadsa hugs xx Cara xx

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

4 Crafty Chicks - Flowers
Happy Campers - Metal (hope my charm is ok for this ladies?)
Tuesday Throwdown - Embossing
Whoopsi Daisy - Shabby Chic or Vintage

Sweet Baby Girl

Evening everyone .... is it just me or has this week seemed sooooo long??!!

So after weeks of trying desperately to find my long lost mojo, i've taken some great advice from some of my lovely DT sista's and made something just for fun - not for an order, not for a DT and not for a family birthday ... and ... it worked!

I've had a lovely couple of hours this afternoon making not one but two cards (i'll save the other one until tomorrow)

So here's what I made:

I used the adorable "Butterfly Baby" by Krista Smith at Saturated Canary, i've had this image so long it was about time I used her.

I coloured her with my Promarkers  (it's been such a long time since I used my markers I had to go on the hunt for tutorials and came across some fantastic ones on You Tube by the Uber talented Kimberly Brown at Just Words.ca - you should check out her channel her vids are amazing!

The papers are 1st Edition "Sweet Owl" this pad is filled with my most fave colour combo Pink and Brown and i've almost used it up :-(

I put everything together following a sketch from Flutter By Wednesday's

The sentiment was a freebie and I finished off with flowers from WOC and some pearls from my stash.

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card and I truly hope it means my mojo is here to stay ... for a while at least!

Loadsa hugs xx Cara xx

Goin Green at A Gem of a Challenege

Happy Saturday everyone!!!

We've had some strange weather here today, first bright sunshine, then rain, hail stone, wing and a bit of snow ... now its really warm again!!!

I hate when its too warm to have heating on to dry clothes yet too wet to peg them out :-(

Anyhoos it's time for another challenge over at A Gem of A Challenge and this week we want you to Go Green!

Now you can literally go Green or recycle something on your project.

Now green is not a colour I usually like to use on my cards, but after making this card I think I might use it a bit more :-)

Here's what I did:

This is the delightful Sitting Chloe and I have coloured her with my promarkers and a touch of white pen.

The papers are Papermania Capsule Collection and i've had them for about 2 years and finally opened them.

The flowers are WOC and I added some of those lovely die cut hearts on stems by Impression Obsession.

The sentiment is a freebie from a magazine.

I hope you like it and I cant wait to see your entries if you decide to join in with us this week.

Loadsa hugs xx Cara xx

Hello again,

As promised i'm back with my GDT post for Crafty Calendar Challenge and this time the challenge theme is "Whats new"

I've gone with yet another new baby card, this one is a lot different to the last post though:

The image I used is from Crafts and Me and is called "A Mother's Love" by Teresa Sherman.  She has been coloured in with my promarkers.

The papers are Simple Stories Baby Steps and they have been distressed, faux stitched and matted with c'oredinations brown cardstock.

The Charm is from my stash and the flower is made up of paper blooms and a small die cut.

Here's a peak at the inside...I just love this sentiment!

Hope you like it!

I'm off to link up and then make tea for my girlies.

See ya soon!

Hugs xx Cara xx

I had a little time to play with some more new stash last night and here's what I made:

These two cuty patooties are Wrynn and Emmy - BFF's from the fabulos Tiddly inks and I have coloured them up with my Promarkers, i've tried a new combo for the blonde hair though and i'm not convinced ... hmmm i'll leave that one out to the jury

Pink Gem - Lavender & Lace

Afternoon sweeties,

Sorry for not being around much lately, things are getting really hectic around here in a christmassy kinda way!

I'm only just finding time to get my DT cards done and my craft room is feeling a little neglected ... still it'll all be over in a few little weeks!

Any hooooo onto todays card and this is my DT creation for our new challenge over at "A Gem of a Challenge".

This challenge is our last this year and will run until the next challenge on 5th January.

This time we would like to see "Lavender and Lace" on your creations so perfect for all of those birthday and mothers day card you might want to get started on.

Heres what I did:

This is the lovely Faye with Flowers and I have coloured her with my promarkers.

I've used my new spellbinders oval die to frame her and some gorgeous papers from Nit Wits through LOTV.

Everything has been given the distress ink treatment and the sentiment and corner dies are from Whimsy.

The lace and blooms are from WOC and the inside has also been decorated.

So there you have it, I really enjoyed making this as I was desperate for a break from crimbo cards!

Hope you like my card and I would love it if you could join me and the other Pink Gem girls in the last challenge of 2012.

First Hannah Lynne Card

Evening everyone, just a quik post tonight to share my very first card using a Hannah Lynne Digi form Crafts & Me.

I've seen these digi's used all over but was always too nervous to attempt to colour one .... so please go easy on me!

This card is made to order so I hope the recipient likes it ... eeek nervous (i've never sold my cards before!)

Ok so I went a bit wild with the hair lol! ... but I did really enjoy colouring her up...i feel a new digi obsession coming on :-)

I was asked to make a large card and I must say I wasn't quite sure about having so much space to fill.

I used papers from "love letters" by 1st edition and I distressed all the edges ( i fancied a change from faux stitching for once)

The bow die is a "new to me" one from Memory Box and i've used my fave corner too.

A computer generated sentiment, double bow and black gems to finish.

Inside had been decorated too.

Hope you like my first attempt, i do hope to be posting more cards with these lovely digis.

Love and hugs

xx Cara xx

Mr Fixit

Evening all,

Another late post from me, I came home from work and had to do the "big" shop with 3 hungry and tired girlies and Lee - it wasn't pleasant I can tell you and i'm shattered now.

I'm sharing my third and final Birthday card for Lee and this one is from Phoebe and Paige.

Meet "Mr Fixit" - he is from Mo's Digital Pencil and I think he is sooo handsome and looks just like my hubby!

He's been coloured with my promarkers as always and matted onto green Basill card stock.

I've used my brand new "octagon" die from Die-namics and more free papers from a magazine.

I hope Lee likes it ..... i've had great fun making his cards but I've got to say i'm glad they're all finished for another year and I can get back to making some nice easy girly creations!

Right i'm off to do some digi stamp shopping, i'll be up again tomorrow with my forst DT post for Pink Gems.

I've coloured her with my promarkers as always.

For Daddy

Hi everyone,

I'm sharing a card today which is for my hubby Lee's birthday next month from our youngest daughter Lacey May.

I've not made him cards before as he never seems to keen so I really hope he likes it.

I coloured this image (by Mo Manning) so many times trying to find a decent sepia colour combo...i'm still not entirely sure about it though.

I kept the card quite simple (for me) and just used some old DP's and added some trim from my stash.  The computer generated sentiment is matted onto a laser cut wooden frame.

Inside is decorated simply too.

I really hope you like it - i'm not too hot with male cards so please go easy on me ;-)

Thanks for visiting and i'll see you tomorrow with a GDT card.

Hugs

xx Cara xx
