Crafter's Companion - Dark Colorista New Release

Hi lovelies,

Just a sneaky post in between DT work to share my samples for he launch of the new Colorista series which is coming to Hochanda as a one day special starting tomorrow at 6pm and throughout Tuesday.

There are 6x6 pads, Bookmark pads and small tag pads in the theme's - Floral Bouquet, Moroccan and Steampunk...... I had the Floral selection to play with.

I used the Colorista metallic pencils to colour everything:

I made a gift box using all of the pads, the 6x6 is on the lid with the bookmarks on the sides, the small tags used to embellish the box.

I decorated a hairband and a hairclip with the Tag and Bookmark pads which I coloured up an fussy cut, adding bling and ribbon to finish off.

This is a 6x6 card made by fussy cutting the centre out, matting and layering and then adding a sentiment and rather large bow :)

Finally I made a simple bookmark:

I coloured the tag, matted onto co-ordinating Centura pearl and added a bow to finish.

I hope you like my samples, tune in tomorrow to see some more amazing samples from my DT friends.

Siren of the Sea with Spectrum Noir Colour Blend pencils

Hello again,

Just popping back to share another make using my Spectrum Noir Colour Blend pencils from the new 12 set configurations, I used both the Soft Tints and the Bold Brights to colour this image:

The image is by Aurora Wings and is called Siren of the Sea and you can find her here

I printed the image on to Strathmore Toned Grey paper and the pencils worked perfectly on here, I used only layering to achieve my blend.

The image is so lovely I decided to leave the rest of the card pretty simple with inly a couple of corner dies and some pretty flowers to finish off.  The sentiment is by Lawn Fawn.

I really hope you like it and don't forget to tune into Hochanda for the one day special on 16th July to catch more samples with these wonderful pencils!

Hi everyone,

Today i'm sharing some fab news .... Crafter's Companion are launching some amazing new 12 sets of colour blend and aqua blend pencils!  They will have a one day special on Hochana on 16th July and I have been lucky enough to work with them!

They have also been launched on HSN and today I am sharing a few of the samples I made for those shows and I will be back  with more including the Samples I have made for Hochanda too!

I used the Colour blend pencils and there are two selections to chose from, Bold Brights and Soft Tints

You can find the pencils on the Crafters companion website here

So here are my samples:

This is a little Wedding Hanger I made using an image by "A Day for Daisies" I stamped and coloured onto Kraft card and added a painted MDF frame.

Here I used a Whimsy image which I printed onto the new Spectrum Noir Pencil Paper from the brand new pads that have been launched to, if you would like to look at these you can find them here

I used the image to create a sweet gift bag, adding designer papers and paper flowers.

This is a little gift box I made using the Ultimate Pro, I cut the card to size, embossed it and then coloured with the pencils on the de-bossed side, I added paper flowers and ribbon to finish.

Petal Lu Challenge - June - Use Red

Hello lovelies,

Today I'm sharing my DT post for the fabulous Petal Lu Challenge and this month we would like to see you use RED FLOWERs on your project..... remember you can also use other colours too but there must be at least one red flower on your project!

This month I tried something a little different ......

I used this wonderful image by Hannah Lynn Queen of Hearts digi stamp from Crafts & Me and I coloured her up with my Spectrum Noir Markers (this is my first time using SN's so be gentle lol).

I decided to add it to a small 7x5 canvas instead of a card. I painted the canvas black and created some turquoise texture past which I used to stencil hearts all over before adding my torn up backing papers.

Finally I embellished with die cut hearts, faux stitching and of course the star of the show my stunning Petal Lu flowers!

I do hope you like it and would love to see you come join in our challenge!

Hugs xx Cara xx

Crafter's Companio Cherry Green Release - 15th July

Hi everyone,

I'm so excited to share my very first assignment for Crafter's Companion/Spectrum Noir!

This week (Thursday to be precise) these wonderful stamps will be available on Hochanda, they are by Cherry Green and are a delight to work with.

They have all been coloured with my Spectrum Aqua markers ... this is the first time I have used them and the colours are amazing!

On this card I have added my Spectrum Sparkle pens to create a glittery background to offset the pretty image.

I went all sheena with this one and created the background using Glycerine and my spectrum aqua's. it was soooooooo much fun, i'm so grateful to sheen douglas for sharing this amazing technique.

I used the "Sheena" technique again on this one but first I stamped the images with white embossing powder to create a resist back ground.

And finally this is such a cute little card, for a change! I made 2 rosettes and layered them up for a very top heavy card lol!

Hope you like my inspiration and I do hope you will be tuning in to watch Hochanda this Thursday.

The papers were free with Making Cards magazine and go just perfectly with the image.
